"Forgive, son; men are men; they needs must err."

The Tourism Minister had something interesting to say about bloggers in a chinese daily a couple of days back .Click here for the translated report.

All bloggers are liars, they cheat people using all kinds of methods. From my understanding, out of 10,000 unemployed bloggers, 8,000 are women.”

Also, in his esteemed opinion "“All bloggers are not in favour of national unity. Our country has been successful because we are very tolerant with each other, if not, there will be civil war, the Malays will kill the Chinese, the Chinese will take revenge and kill the Malays, and the Indian will kill everyone.”

The minister's full name is Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor .
A Malay name.
Constitutionally, this would make him a Moslem.
The prefix Datuk Seri Tengku denotes both his nobility and royal ties .
In all case , a position of privelege.

From his picture, me gather he is an Elder, a position of respect.
In this melting pot where not many things are expressed the same , this one note is a welcome exception. It keeps its tune everywhere.
An Elder is the last point of deference.
Not the first to attack , but the last line of defence.

As a full fledged member of the Cabinet, this man belongs in the most powerful commitee in the country.
A man of responsibility in a position of command.
A position that should be shouldered seriously by a serious man .
You carry others.
It is unbecoming for this burden to be assumed by someone with a penchance for too many jokes.
Yet this is what he did didn't he. He joked .That must have been it.How else can one mitigate his offence.

On any one his accounts alone here should be a man worthy of many respect.
So what went wrong?

Is it as the Poet once said, " Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad"
